LIST OF AWARD NOMINEE CATEGORIES
Communications Center Employee of the Year Award
This award is presented to an individual telecommunicator or call taker in recognition of their exemplary job performance above the call of duty, as well as the skills and knowledge exhibited in all aspects of communications on a daily basis.
Communications Center Supervisor of the Year Award
This award is presented to an individual in recognition of their outstanding service as a supervisor of communications and for the exceptional professionalism in the field of emergency communications that is demonstrated on a daily basis.
Communications Support Personnel of the Year Award
This award is presented to an individual employed either within the communications center or department that provides support services to the communications center, for recognition of their outstanding service and dedication to the agency. This may be awarded to the Radio Technician, CAD Manager, Addressing/MSAG Manager, or any other support position in which the individual has played a significant role in the enhancement and improvement of operations of the center.
Communications Training Officer of the Year Award
This award is presented to an individual in recognition of their outstanding service as a training officer of communications and for the exceptional dedication and innovation in preparing and training the skills and knowledge base of emergency communications professionals.
Communications Leader of the Year Award
This award is presented to the individual that performs the duties of the manager, director, or assistant director of a communications center in recognition of their accomplishments in encouraging, motivating, supporting and mentoring their employees.
Communications | 911 Center of the Year Award
This award is presented to the Communications/911 Center that exhibits outstanding professionalism, leadership, innovation, and service to the community it serves, as well as to its region and state. This may be demonstrated by the center’s contributions in the advancement of public safety communications, including technology, management, training and community involvement.
Outstanding Commercial Member of the Year Award
This award is presented to a vendor for their outstanding dedication in working to strengthen public awareness and support of emergency communications and 911, as well as their dedication and support of the North Carolina National Emergency Number Association.
Positive Influencer of the Year Award
This award is presented annually to an individual who has demonstrated exemplary character and influence in his or her professional relationships and embodies remarkable levels of integrity, humility, respect, service, teamwork, leadership, and unity – and, in doing so, has affected significant contribution to his or her peers, agency, and/or the 9-1-1 industry.
OTHER GENERAL COMMENDATION
This award is for all other categories that do not meet one of the above award categories. This nominee category can be used to recognize a member or agency at a Chapter meeting or Conference Awards Banquet.
