The North Carolina Chapter of NENA (NC NENA) holds an annual joint conference with our sister organization, the North Carolina Chapter of the Association of Public-safety Communications Officials (NC APCO). This conference is usually held in the September timeframe in different locations throughout the state (see Past NC NENA/NC APCO State Conferences for locations where conference has been held).

 

The NC NENA/NC APCO Conference officially changed names at the 2015 annual conference to North Carolina Public-Safety Communications Conference.

 

A conference committee, consisting of the executive boards of each chapter, plans and makes decisions annually about the next conference held. The three presidents of each chapter, however, (president, first vice president and second vice president) are the only voting members of the conference committee, although other office holders and other members of each organization may be on the committee.

 

Annual invitations are sent electronically to attend the conference, both to vendors interested in purchasing a booth in the vendor hall and to members who would like to attend. There is also a call for papers sent out for planning and scheduling the educational sessions at the conference.
